Cell 1:
ROBOTS: 2 Motoman MH-50 and MH-225 robots (DX-200).
DESCRIPTION: Robotic cell assembly of metal parts. The MH-50 takes its piece, at the place indicated by the vision system at its entrance, installs “studs” and then deposits it on a support. The MH-225 also takes his piece, at the place indicated by the vision system at his entrance, he installs “studs”, comes to marry his room with the one to the support and then tapping them together. Finally, he drops the assembly on a conveyor that brings him to the other robotic cell.
MANDATE: The mandate consisted in programming, carrying out the tests in workshop and putting in production the two robots. One of the challenges was to reduce the cycle time to reach the initial goal. It was necessary to review some concepts, positions and robot movements in a restricted cell. The other challenge was to make sure to avoid collisions between robots.
NUMBER OF MODELS OF PARTS: 2.
Cell 2 contiguous to cell 1:
ROBOTS: 2 Motoman MH-225 robots (DX-200).
DESCRIPTION: Robotic cell assembly of metal parts. One of the MH-225 takes the assembled part of the previous cell, at the location indicated by a vision system, and deposits it on one of the two welding stations. The other MH-225 takes one of the welded parts, puts it in a “punch”, takes it back and then puts it on the output conveyor.
MANDATE: The mandate was to program and put into production the two robots.
